The author was born in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria in the 60s. He attended primary school between 1970-1975 in Ogbomoso and Igbo-Elerin Grammar School Ibadan for his secondary school education between

1977-1982. He proceeded to The Polytechnic Ibadan, Eruwa campus for OND in Fine Arts between 1986-1988.

He furthered to Yaba College of Technology Lagos

for his HND, specializing in Painting from 1992-1995.

In his quest for more knowledge, he went to the University of Ibadan for PDGE in the year 2001, then to the Ekiti State University where he obtained B.A ED in Fine and Applied Arts specializing in painting between 2004-2007.

Kolade is a prolific book illustrator, an author, a painter of repute, a teacher, art-historian and cultural artist. He holds a Masters degree in Visual Arts from the Institute of African Studies University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
